Scenes From The Making Strides Walk

Almost lost in the news between Halloween and Burn2, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk took place last Sunday on October 26. The event's official hours were from 9AM to 6PM. The event took place on a walkway on two temporary sims next to the American Cancer Society sim, Make Strides 1 and Make Strides 2

Those dropping by walked around on the track, looked at the exhibits, danced at parties held in the center of the event, or just looked around and admired the detail of the scenery.

There were a few shops in which one could get items, the proceeds going to charity, or pick up an occasional freebie item.

The schedule went as follows:
9 to 10AM SLT : T1 Radio
10 to 11AM SLT : Opening Ceremony – 2014 Making Strides Committee

11AM to 12PM SLT : T1 Radio – Survivor & Caregiver Hour (Survivors and caregivers are why we make strides! Help us honor these very special people)
12 to 1PM SLT : Boot It Up Hour (wear your favorite boots as you walk around the Stride’s path) with DJ Gem Sunkiller

1PM to 2PM SLT : International Spirit Hour (Wave your country’s flag as you walk around the Stride’s path) with The Second Life Cheerleading Squad
2PM to 3PM SLT : Hat’s Aplenty Hour (Show off your favorite hat during this hour) with DJ Ben Vee

3PM to 4PM SLT : Let’s Get Hopping Hour (Grab one of our hoppers and hop around the path) with Millcreek Road

4PM to 5PM SLT : Remembrance Ceremony (Remember your loved ones that you have lost to breast cancer during this special hour) With the 2014 Making Strides Committee & T1 Radio
5PM to 7PM SLT : Time Machine Special (We are going back to the 1960’s with DJ Trader1 Whiplash)

This would be one of the last of the Making Strides events this year. On Halloween, the "Romance Your Boo" party took place. The final event, the Awards Gala, takes place on Sunday November 2 from 1 to 4PM at Angel Manor (161/215/29)
