Bellisseria For Life

By Bixyl Shuftan

The Relay for Life season is in full swing. And there have been various Relay events. Some are large such as the recent SL Living Expo. And there have been plenty of smaller events by the various teams. This week, the Linden Home continent of Bellisseria is getting it's own Relay event: Bellisseria For Life, or "Belli For Life" for short. It's taking place in the Bellisseria Fairgrounds.

Games is the theme of this year's Bellisseria For Life. Some of the displays were fun parodies, such as this Monopoly take on the "Game of Homes" joke Bellissarians make when giving up one Linden Home in hopes of getting a better one.

I decided to dust off my alt Rezzdammit to check things out.

There was a huge squid on display with a fishing pole, for any aspiring fisherman to pose with and take pictures.

There was something for the Korean show "Squid Games" as well.

Gorden Ramsey meets GTA.

There were tributes to many classic games, from Minecraft to Pac Man.

An AT-AT becomes a zip-line anchor.

There was also a stage for music events. At times when I was busy, I'd notice close to two dozen there on the map. But when Rezz was around, it was a small audience with the "Bell Hammies" on stage with DJ Stella.

It was a tiny crowd (no pun intended), but a happy one just the same.

The dance floor doubled as a "Bellisquaria" game board.

And at one point, the attention went to the rare Gacha steampunk hat I'd given Rezz years ago.

[14:15] Becca Ordinary: love that hat Rezz
[14:15] The Bellisseria Hamster (JessycaJayne Resident): yush great hat!
[14:15] RezzDammit Resident: Hyuk hyuk, thankies
[14:16] The Bellisseria Hamster (JessycaJayne Resident): so funny
[14:16] RezzDammit Resident: Ah gotts et frum ah friend, he sez since eys wuz et th' steem-lahnds so much, it fits me, hyuk
[14:16] Becca Ordinary: hahahaha
[14:16] The Bellisseria Hamster (JessycaJayne Resident): steampunk is awesome 🙂

But not all of the games were show pieces. Many were playable, like these tabletop games.

And there was this miniature golf game.

This Tetris game had a rather low-tech "screen" made up of light bulbs that went on and off.

Eventually Rezz would head back home and I would appear to look around, such as this Minesweeper and pool table.

There was also a classic hammer and bell game. Can you whack hard enough to ring it?

Charlee would join me, and we would play a few games of bowling (she would win two to one).

Also there were games of laser tag and a few others. Gemma Cleanslate says there will be trophies given out to top players of some of the games.

Bellisseria for Life continues to March 10. So if you're in a gaming mood, come on by

The Belli Hammi

The Grand Opening was back on April 1 and featured The Bellisseria Hamster (JessycaJayne Resident)as the dj with her hammie partner ,Varistentia Varriale, dancing along. The two Hammies were dressed elegantly as usual and all danced away the afternoon.

I took a walk on a quiet day to see the variety of animals on the ground and in the air. I rode the zip line over the build and got a good look at everything.

There is charming camp area where one can rest and enjoy the snacks set out. Sitting by the campfire I was able to spy the colorful birds over head and enjoy the solitude for a bit. As you walk you will see the statues of frightening looking creatures adorn the area near the temple. Fortunately I found no
doom but did not look hard.

Alice in Bell Fairgrounds and NatureCon

By Gemma Cleanslate

While you are waiting for Naturecon2022 to open take a trip over to the Bellisseria Fairgrounds to see a really sweet installation that Gracie (GracieAustinn Resident) has built.

It will be there until Friday the 19th or Saturday the 20th she said.

There was a really fun party to open it Friday. Many participants came dressed in costume to fit the venue.

The banter and the music by DJ Far added to the enjoyment as he played songs from various holidays in the UK that were not familiar to many but brought smiles and laughter to all at the event.
Take a walk around and see the creatures of the Alice story that most of us remember loving then and still.

Then cross over into the abandoned carnival next door arranged by Tristan Elan. Jump on the rides that are still working though the carnival seems so broken and closed. We tried them!

Naturecon 2022 is opening the 18th. There was a lovely meet and greet held a while back where those participating gathered to share their planned activities. There will be two regions for the event with many booths and installations celebrating the varied nature locations on the Mainland and Bellisseria.

I went over to regions to see the layout . Placing the regions the Moles placed a mountain with a lighthouse overlooking all. Now the land is ready for the all the groups. Exhibit booths are in place.
There are so many places to explore all over the regions.

Soull Starlight and Yukiko Yeshto are putting in so much time and energy preparing for the week.
There are nature activities planned as well as live performances, parties and so much more. I believe some collaborators plan tours. Families are I invited to participate tours in special activities for them.

While exploring I walked up, up the mountain. On the side of the mountain I stopped in at a lovely Cafe ready with food and drinks for visitors. I found a hang glider near the summit and had an easy time coming down. I think there is rock climbing that I need to find. The train is running and offers a nice ride around the mountain with many stops along the way.

I found Hiroko Nubalo working hard getting the Mount Campion installation in place. She has nature trivia planned as one activity at the Nature Center on site. Her displays are so interesting at the mountain I look forward to it all. Next door I see that Pygar Bu has also started the Bay City contribution. It will be exciting to see the finished installations. Save time for this wonderful event that will last from August 18 through the 31st.

Here is the landmark to save also until then. It will put you right next to the train crossing and the office. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/NC22O/128/67/23

Gemma's Busy Weekend

By Gemma Cleanslate

What a busy weekend!! I attended several functions that I intended to get to and made time to do it all.

My first visit was to the Opening of Spark at 10slt Saturday. 24/7 hours of music began.
DIRTYANGEL Iwish was the first dj with music that was both stimulating and soothing . There was a great crowd in the amphitheater .

I spoke with one of the Spark team spoke with me and was thrilled with the whole event and the music too. He gave me a clue to the next installation already more than in the minds of the team.
ɠɛɠɛ ʄɛɖųƈƈı (OSMAN Genesis) in charge of djs was also present as were several other djs ready to go. Lots of time to explore the installation. https://slnewserdesign.blogspot.com/2022/08/the-mortal-coil.html

Later I made my way to the closing event of the Hammies summer fun installation on the Fairgrounds of Bellisseria. It has been there for a month with fun taking place on the interactive water slides and other activities. The party was great fun as usual and I learned that the next event by the Hammies will be Halloween. That should be a hoot!

My last visit Saturday was to Mount Campion. Buried deep inside the mountain is a grand Cavern Club where there is music provided by dj ScÔt Kip NÔrth (ScotNorth Resident), who is also Ranger on the mountain. It was jumping with all many residents and guests in attendance. It was open to the public as are many of the events on the Mount. Teresa Firelight was there and reminded us that a huge anniversary party is coming in September. Time passes so fast!

Sunday I took some time to visit the regions where people are getting ready for Naturecon. I ran into my friend Pygar of Bay City measuring their parcel. It is coming soon!!! Keep an eye on the website!
https://natureconsl.site/

Then I stopped over at The house of Bellboy in Sweetmarsh to end the weekend at a casual party. Bellboy was not home but the party was going strong. Earlier I did run in the Linden Realms grabbing crystals for a bit. With all these parties I need lindens to tip the djs! Glad to see Monday coming!

Scenes From Bellisseria's Third Anniversary

 *
By Bixyl Shuftan

The weekend of Friday April 15 to Sunday April 17 was a special one for Bellisseria. While it was  Easter Weekend, that was not all. They were having their Third Anniversary celebration.

At Bellisseria Fairgrounds, the place was decked out for a party.

The island had numerous buildings, some for certain events.

And there were three days of events.

Eventually came the day of the event.

And the place was really packed, almost a hundred avatars.

Usually Gemma Cleanslate is right there and pretty much on top of things. But as she was sidelined due to real life, it was up to me. The sim was crowded when I got there. So for a while I was on the outside at Whisky Bay, looking in.

With so many avatars, a number were clouds, or naked, for a while.

There were also some Lindens, such as Jester and Itsa.

Alota and Adora Mole, the tiny looking a bit like she was taking extra precautions against griefers.

Patch was giving a speech from the gazebo, but he didn't rezz for me. Nor could I hear what was being spoken as I was having to cam from another sim.

I would later listen to it on this video from Pring Productions. Just afterr 8 minutes into the video was when he mentioned the new Linden Homes theme.

Hearing that things might be easier getting in at the airport, I decided to give it a try.

The sign stated "Mole Air." But I got a weird feeling the building was once for some other purpose.

Security was pretty standard.

I finally got in, though with the lag, some avies took lots of time to rezz.

There was also a game with a prize, an Easter Egg Quest in which you needed to hunt for eggs the bunny hid, but forgot to add chocolates.

You went around various buildings on the Fairegrounds.

The prize for solving it: A Bellisserian baseball cap.

There was a Moles vs Residents boat race on Saturday April 16.

But the lag was just too much for me that day.

I would have better luck on Sunday April 17.

The lag wasn't so bad, and people weren't half-clothed for long.

Fuyoko Anamo was performing for the crowd then.

Some people dance, others relaxed in the grass.

There were various buildings.

Including some homes, from very detailed.

To a little more comfy.

On a final note, it took longer to finish this article I planned. But better late than never.

Happy anniversary Bellisseria.
