Scenes From Bellisseria's Third Anniversary

 *
By Bixyl Shuftan

The weekend of Friday April 15 to Sunday April 17 was a special one for Bellisseria. While it was  Easter Weekend, that was not all. They were having their Third Anniversary celebration.

At Bellisseria Fairgrounds, the place was decked out for a party.

The island had numerous buildings, some for certain events.

And there were three days of events.

Eventually came the day of the event.

And the place was really packed, almost a hundred avatars.

Usually Gemma Cleanslate is right there and pretty much on top of things. But as she was sidelined due to real life, it was up to me. The sim was crowded when I got there. So for a while I was on the outside at Whisky Bay, looking in.

With so many avatars, a number were clouds, or naked, for a while.

There were also some Lindens, such as Jester and Itsa.

Alota and Adora Mole, the tiny looking a bit like she was taking extra precautions against griefers.

Patch was giving a speech from the gazebo, but he didn't rezz for me. Nor could I hear what was being spoken as I was having to cam from another sim.

I would later listen to it on this video from Pring Productions. Just afterr 8 minutes into the video was when he mentioned the new Linden Homes theme.

Hearing that things might be easier getting in at the airport, I decided to give it a try.

The sign stated "Mole Air." But I got a weird feeling the building was once for some other purpose.

Security was pretty standard.

I finally got in, though with the lag, some avies took lots of time to rezz.

There was also a game with a prize, an Easter Egg Quest in which you needed to hunt for eggs the bunny hid, but forgot to add chocolates.

You went around various buildings on the Fairegrounds.

The prize for solving it: A Bellisserian baseball cap.

There was a Moles vs Residents boat race on Saturday April 16.

But the lag was just too much for me that day.

I would have better luck on Sunday April 17.

The lag wasn't so bad, and people weren't half-clothed for long.

Fuyoko Anamo was performing for the crowd then.

Some people dance, others relaxed in the grass.

There were various buildings.

Including some homes, from very detailed.

To a little more comfy.

On a final note, it took longer to finish this article I planned. But better late than never.

Happy anniversary Bellisseria.

Trotsdale's Third Birthday Celebration With Musicians Jaycatt and Frogg

By Bixyl Shuftan

Last Saturday, September 20th, the Trotsdale pony sim celebrated its third anniversary, with a party high above the sim. A few dozen locals in their characteristic "My Little Pony" avatars, along with some visitors from Luskwood and other places danced away to the music of a live performance by Jaycatt Nico and Frogg Marlowe.

"Frogg and Jaycatt are now playing at Trotsdale's third birthday here at Trodsdale Heights. After F+J, Suri will be DJing, and we're going into the night."

Michi Lumin, one of Luskwood's founders, was among the two-legged visitors helping to celebrate.

The locals came out in pony avatars large and small, one whom dressed up for the occasion.

Eventually Jaycatt and Frogg finished their routine, and the audience applauded, "Thanks for the the music-ings!" "It would be nice to see you two perform at Trotdsale more regularly." "Thanks again, Jay, Frogg." "Thanks for playing F&J you two are awesome." "Hopefully we don't have to wait till next year to hear you guys again." "Dont' worry, Trotsdale has a catch and release policy for musicians I'm sure."

There were a few comments about making the pair honorary ponies, "We could declare them already ponies by fiat," as the tender part of a horse's hoof was sometimes called a "frog," "We're walking on our frogs." That got a few chuckles from Frogg Marlowe, "never heard that before! Cool!" There were also a few jokes about their avatars being contagious, "You will get ponied in your sleep. It happens." "Unleash the ponification ray!" "... ponification isn't required, it just sorta ... happens around here (grin)."

Jaycatt and Frogg thanked the crowd for their well wishes, "It was a lot of fun." "Always glad to be a part of special occasions like this ... Thank you all so much!" Then they headed out as the local DJ,  DJ Dash (shurikenangel), began playing, "Thanks again everyone. Happy anniversary Trostdale!" Michi also headed out, "Thanks everyone for being here and I'll be back later tonight. But mostly, thanks for three years of this, putting up with our growing pains, and the changing pony sim scene, and sticking by. It really is appreciated, and you guys being here is what makes this possible."

*Addition* I later chatted with Michi. It seems she's not exactly just a friend to Trotsdale, but the owner of the place. She told me she was co-owner for a time, then made full owner.

Bay City Celebrates it’s Third Anniversary

Saturday May 14th marked the official celebration for the third anniversary of the Bay City area in Second Life. The event was marked by a parade across several of the sims down the street, as well as a “Music Extravaganza” on the grounds of the North Channel sim.

Of the parade, Bay City resident Marianne McCain is quoted as saying there were over sixty marchers in the parade. Lalo Telling got a few pictures of it, including giant racing snails, and a Godzilla float. The music event began at 12:30 PM SL time. . First to play was blogger and DJ Mark Dudek. After he signed off at 1:30, JoeUSA Shelbyville began singing for the crowd. At 2:30 Christov Kohnke cam on stage, and at 3:30 Yaro Pinion. Daniel Voyager got a number of pictures, which can be seen on his Flicker.

There were a number of Second Life notables at the Extravaganza. Most notable were some of the founders and staff from Luskwood, including Michi Lumnin. As it turned out, Luskwood is just several sims west of Bay City. Still, for the crew seldom seen outside the Big Tree, there were a few jokes about the “hardships” of the “long journey” over. Descriptions of how many showed up ranged from about 70 to in the 40’s. There was one griefer whom tried to spoil the fun with insulting remarks to blacks and furries, but the response was mockery and chuckles followed by the banhammer.

The celebration could only be considered a success.

The Second Life Wiki describes Bay City as created by Linden Lab’s Department of Public Works (a program focused on improvements related to the experience of living on, or visiting the Linden Mainland) in 2008. The area was built in mind to reflect the golden age of the North American urban experience, “between 1940 and 1965, perhaps best typified by Chicago circa 1950 and marked by a distinct deco influence." Made up of twenty sims in 2010, it doubled in size when its Teen Grid counterpart was placed next to it.
