Some Exhibits And An Event At The SL22B

 By Bixyl Shuftan

The Second Life Birthday is here! Time for the Birthday Shop and Hop. Time for the Meet the Lindens events. And time to see what exhibits the creativity of the residents came up with.

I dropped by the pod station in SLB Breathtaking, and besides the pods, there were horses.

Maybe I should have tried riding one, but I wanted to run around on foot.

I saw some pods that looked like miniature Viking ships

I also saw one that looked like an airplane

Close by was the Kiticats exhibit, by the makers of a popular breedable pet kitty.

Also in SLB Breathtaking is an exhibit by Bryn Oh, a longtime SL artist.

Holocluck Henly had an amusing exhibit: The Bunny Cult.

"Hop on the dark side" to get a few bunny freebies, and see a few pictures of scary Easter Bunnies.

In SLB Blissful, there was the Builder's Brewery exhibit, by a group aimed at helping residents be better at building.

There was also an exhibit by the SLB Public Land Preserve

I also stopped by Loki Eliot's "Hero Man," a take on "He-Man."

The exhibit of "I Pink I Can," a Relay for Life fundraiser that takes place in October.

While walking, I saw a few dragon eggs on the track, those are for a HUD based SLB game.

While there, I stopped by "The Royal Keep" to catch the tail end of an event by Merryjest Starchild.

Unfortunately, the star performer and his crew just wouldn't rezz.

From Merryjest

But Merryjest had a few he told me I could use.

And that was my first day at the Second Life Birthday celebrations. Be sure to check it out yourself. What, and who, will you see?

Burn2 Conception And The BBB SL20B Party

By Gemma Cleanslate

Besides greeting and attending a few Lab Gabs and stage parties at the SL20B, I made it to several events occurring at the Arboretum. Burn 2 held an informational meeting at the Performance stage . Each lead of the various departments explained what the department did at all the events during the year.

They also brought in their own video of past events at Deep Hole where most of the events are held .They explained the 10 Principles of Burning Man of which Burn2 is a regional member. It was most interesting to the audience and offered invites to join in at events as volunteers or creators of the installations on the Playa at Deep Hole.

The next event will be held this coming weekend .It is called Conception and is held in space! Come over to get acquainted and see all the builds and join the parties . http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Burning%20Man-%20Deep%20Hole/137/36/24

The Belllisseria Bureau of Bureaucracy ,known as BBB , held the largest gathering that I can recall at their Space ship high over the regions of the SL20B . Both the opening party and the closing party were terrific! Above is a shot of the Back to Earth party on July 11 taken by Martina Voxel.

It was barely large enough to fit all that attended and was great fun. Frank Atisso offered tunes the certainly fit the occasion . I felt like we were on our way to Mars. Several Moles dropped in as they have been doing at many events during this past two weeks. One thing that I have enjoyed enjoyed while greeting was the variety of avatars that came in to visit and explore . I took some photos of the array that I encountered.

At The SL19B, Part Two

By Gemma Cleanslate

As the days pass at the SL19B I have had a chance to greet at the Welcome Area, the Tapestry, the Arboretum and wander along some of the roads to say hello and offer information.

It is fun to meet many Second Life residents who come in from all across the grid to enjoy the birthday. I also stopped in at these venues when an event was going on.

One day I arrived at the Arboretum to find a raucous crowd clapping and hollering at at Wrestling match hosted by Premier Wrestling. Nadie DarkMoon Ireland (elcazador2003 Resident) and Khia Norsewood (Khiandres Resident) entered the ring to great applause and began tossing each other all over. The referee, Greyson Cooper (GreysonCooper101 Resident) oversaw what was going on. I have no idea who won or if anyone did since I am not familiar with the rules. Everyone there was enjoying the whole thing. I know there is a huge following of this sport in Second Life and it was evident.

The Arboretum is built to hold various events there on different stages. All of Saffia Widdershins interviews with Linden Lab are held here at a different stage that can accommodate hundreds of visitors at a time.

From there I stopped over at the Steamworks to find Classical steampunk music with Colin Scientist not only offering the music but also doing ballet dance steps for an appreciative audience. Some of the audience joined him with ballet steps . The Steamworks is an amazing installation of … also known as Faust in other years. I always look for his builds every year.

Sunday will be the last day for parties at the stages but this is a good time to start exploring the many installations across the more than 20 regions. I have visited some this week in between greeting at the various venues. Below are a few of the artists work that I have seen and enjoyed.
