Pictures From The PBC Women's Conference

 By Bixyl Shuftan

On Saturday March 8, the Firth Annual International Women's Day Conference took place in Second Life. The day is to support the equality of women around the world, as well as celebrate the accomplishments of women.

The event was hosted by JardenAlexis at the Premier Business Center. Dozens of people attended.

This included a few Newser reporters and the wife of one. I'd just missed the prayer by Monrocie.

There were a few speakers, one was Rhyme Gardner, who would talk about the history of Women's Day. Linda Satureau would be the keynote speaker.

Jarden would also say a few words.

The discussions were in voice, so there is no text record. They were about the importance of women's rights, not just the right to vote but being treated fairly in the workforce, and the accomplishments individual women have done over time.

There were also some gifts available for anyone who wanted them.

Following the speakers, there was a live performance by the Changhigh Sisters.

Jarden herself would get into the act.

Following the performance on stage was a dance party, with JaaJaaHaris Phily playing the music as the DJ.

Happy Womens Day

Following that KARINOELLE BAPTISTE gave a very conssce  history of International Womens day .

After that Jarden introduced each of the speakers giving us their backgrounds. PLUMQUEEN BAPTISTE, JACKIE LEFKO,SIENNA HARRIS, each gave uplifting speaches ,speaking about adversity in their lives , always going toward recognition and inclusion and a feeling of belonging. It was all very inspiring and uplifting.

The audience was appreciative of all the speeches and enjoyed it thoroughly. Following the speakers all retired to the third floor for dancing and question and answer during the social with DJ Melly Mel. Jardenalexis gave thanks to the SL Newser for all the support in publishing information about the Premier Business Center and the activities there.

Thanks to Jarden for doing this every year.

International Women's Day at The PBC

By Gemma Cleanslate

I did make it to the marvelous event celebrating International Women’s Day. JardenAlexis , owner of Premier Business Center. The venue was elegant decorated in purple and white, the colors of the day. The menu offered a whole host of dinners, beef and fish, and beverages. I settled on a white wine,  shrimp and rice and  cheesecake for dessert.

Lovie Benoir was greeting at the entrance.

I am sorry I arrived a bit late and almost missed the history of international women’s day which dates back to the early 20th century, given by ƊΣSI ƛƁΘƝƜΘΘƊ ƊƛƝƝUƝƵIΘ-MƛSSIƝΘ (DesireCinquetti Dannunzio).

JardinAlexis greeted the crowd which numbered in the upper 50‘s people attending. The speakers were introduced. The theme of this year’s IWD was Challenge.

Max E Stone, a real life author, who spoke about having goals, reaching goals but with relaxation and taking time on the way with balance.

The second speaker, DarkEbony Mocha (MsDEMocha)  CEO of the Mocha corporation.talked  about working through challenges. She talked about her real life work, traveling  country working with   federally  funded programs.and how life work can help  achieve and become stronger .

Next, Dancerina Starlight, who also works with 55 local agencies federally funded programs in real life, spoke about investing in relationships and having positivity. She wove the idea of money investment and relationship investment for the long haul together. If someone comes up with an idea “soar with the Visionary” and cooperate.

Following the dinner and talks there was a Meet and Greet outside on the large patio. I know there was to be a party too but I had to leave to real life. It was a very elegant and successful event weaving real life and Second Life together. Thanks to JardenAlexis and her staff for the extraordinary work of putting it all together.
