Multiverse "Jail and Bail" Raises "Over 25,000" Linden Dollars For Parkinsons

By Bixyl Shuftan

Yesterday. Tuesday November 4, was the final day of the Multiverse Fair, a Halloween-themed major fundraiser for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which funds Parkinson's research. Among the events was a "Jail and Bail" that took place in the afternoon. Earlier in the day, there was a Linden dunk tank event, but I missed that.

Is they innocent?  Or is they guilty?  Only you can decide!  Come to the Jail and Bail and give your input regarding the two prisoners!  Jail and Bail is going on NOW and we got a pretty good crowd of AMAZING AVATARS. :

Mesmer Macabre and Grimoire Hexem were the volunteers for the event. Both were in cages between two donation boxes, one labeled "Keep them in," one labeled "Let them out."

For close to an hour, a crowd made up of characters worthy of a circus carnival, including a steampunk robot, a furry clown with huge claws, an elf, and a ten foot tall man, both cheered on the jailers and the jailed. There was also someone acting as the mascot of the fair, a "Nubbins." "You all have some incredible avatars!" he told everyone, "Seriously. Thanks for showing up today in *style*."

At one point, the cell of one was flooded with rodents, "Oh noes! Her cage is filled with rats! Oh the humanity!!" Then there was a flash that left the prisoners unharmed, but not the critters, "Oh no, my rats!"

The prisoners pleaded, "If you keep me in jail... I won't be able to create things, now wouldn't that be a shame?" And there were retorts, "The only reason to keep them jailed is public safety.  AND WE ALREADY KNOW THAT IS SHOT TO BLAZES!"

The event went on, the Nubbins goimg, "Okay, I didn't wanna do this ... I didn't wanna resort to this ... BUT IF YOU DON'T SET MY CLIENTS FREE, I'M GONNA STAR TELLING *DAD JOKES* !" "When did you stop telling them?" Mesmer then offered the crowd a gift if 1000L more was donated. It was, and I found a funny bumper attachment in my inventory that when others used, it made a little gesture and noise.

Then Nubbins announced, "We're up to 5000! And I promised a huge explosion, right?  WHO WANTS TO SEE A REALLY REALLY HUGE EXPLOSION?" And then there was a flash, with a ring of light remaining, "Boom baby!"

The Linden count went up, "You are a generous group. Donations are up to a total of 16.900 so far! :D " More gifts were given out, strange ones, "We will protect your families with meat abominations." "My clients gonna haz to go to the bathroom soon, and that's somethin' ya don't wanna see!" Then Nubbins announced, "Okay, I just got word from da judge. As of now, these signs is reversed. 'Let Them Out' means keep them in." "Whaaaat?" "And 'Keep Them In' means let them out." "If they were reveresed, wouldn't it be 'Let them in' and 'Keep them out?'" "Hmmmm, dat a good point Morgan. Now go sit in the corner."

There was talk about releasing just one. Then of releasing them, but turning them into something called a "meatcat."  "We up to 10,000 on free them!!." Nubbins went at one point, "We gots thirteen minutes to save dem from, syrup induced punishment!" Mesmer went, "We got just 7 minutes and 3k to get us out of here before the meatcat consumes." One went, "We know Mesmer did it! Guilty as charged! Mesmer's fingerprints were on the..." "What was the crime?!" "Crimey fingerprints."

Time ticked on, "Okay, we have 20 seconds." "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" "Can't we just drop the cages in the ocean someplace?" And then, "We got bailed by fifty! Yay! We are released!" "Time is up!" Nubbins announced, "They are freed." And the cells were opened. Grimoire went, "I knew you were wonderful, reasonable people." Mesmer spoke, "You guys are AMAZING!"  One guy grumbled, "Sabotaged! there goes the sweatshop, caged forced labor plan," then brightened, "Thanks again for the goodies Mesmer."

Nubbins announced, "Thank you all for your generous donations! This jail n bail earned over 25,000 L$ for the foundation!" Some people left to look around, others hung around for a bit.

Later on, there would be an announcement in the group.

THANKS TO OUR GENEROUS MEMBERS!
Tue, Nov 04 2025 3:04:22 PM SLT

Thanks to our generous members the JAIL N BAIL just earned over 25,000 L$ for the Michael J Fox Foundation... and purchases from the Kiosks earned an additional 7,500+.  THANK YOU ALL for your great generosity. :D

After that night, the Multiverse Fair was officially closed. But fans would look back at the chaotic, sometimes slightly freaky and spooky, fun.

Halloween? Without me this year.

For this year, at least, I decided not to decorate my club in SL for Halloween ... except what you see in the picture.

There might be some DJs which placing for their set some decoration (I am not limiting this), but at all the other decoration stays off.

Maybe I should tell you first, this "event" isn't celebrated (much) where I am living.

Ok, there are companies, stores and TV-stations, which try to enable it as "big thing" here, too. The reason is simple: More business.

And sure, some people jump on that train for parties and more. And also not be seen as suspicious for celebrating it ... mostly.

But you won't find a lot houses decorated ... maybe 1 of 1,000-10.000 or even less.

And if kids dare to run for the "Trick or Treat", the almost households will have no candy available ... and a try of the "Trick" might end as visit on the police-station.

Anyway ...

Usual I was decorate my club all the years with some stuff. It is international, so I following the mainstream.

I have the things in the inventory. It not getting shady about the use or so. so there would be no costs.

But along the years, the event became more and more less appealing.

And as the event in the shortly last years became way and way more violent.

So ... I decided to be an opposite to the whole event ... to Clowns and Horror-Clowns ... and Mass-Murders ... and Zombies.

If I want some Horror, I watch the news with some other kind of clowns.

PS ... (and hint for the Swaginator-Hunters):

The Lindens and Moles was done a good work at decorating the event locations ...

... but at the 5th location ... with the broken clock that brings us back to the Future ...

... the roaming Zombies was ... not my favorite.

(And can some native English speaker tell, how that location was related to the riddle ... about a lake and ship and so?)

PPS:

Ironically as I was write this text, an event-manager of my club was "decorate for the party later" ... I was forbidding her Zombies, btw ...

... and 2 others showing their Halloween-related avatars.

More Halloween Shopping And Health Island In September

By Gemma Cleanslate

Autumn is coming

There is always a marvelous display of everything Halloween and autumn over at Wonderland Beach Not only that but there is a great hunt going on there. Many of your favorite creators have taken plots there.

Many of the shops and stalls and outside displays have a treasure chest somewhere on their plot. There is a whole section for Dinkies also some treasure chests there so it will take a while to see all the offerings. Plan time!

Another marvelous place to check out is Halloweentown . This exhibit of shops will also take some time. First there are loads of gachas to examine just full of décor. As I walked around there were all kinds of ghostly little critters walking around me. I love to see them at Halloween parties and on parcels too when I go by.

I loved the little decks and resting carpets with pillows that could be put on properties for a collected décor, a good selection.

I saw a really nice Happy Halloween sign in the air above me as I was walking along the brick path . As I passed under it however I was startled as it fell and became bunch of bones! Be careful what you touch.

Let me step away for a moment to remind you to visit the Virtual Ability sponsored Health Island again this month for informative displays of awareness. Every month as you know there are new exhibits to help one gain knowledge or be reminded of health issues that might affect you or a family member or friends and offer resources. One of them that we should all be worried about is addressed this time. Microplastics!!! It seems science is finding them everywhere including human bodies! Read about it!

One exhibit delves into Pain, a common issue affecting each of us at some times in our lives. Many live with this condition all the time. You will find resources again that will help you or others who mention having pain. There are several other exhibits including heat, whole grains, and fungal disease. You can pick up a notecard with the slurls at this point. Take a walk around also .

A "Bat-Tacular" Birthday Party

By Bixyl Shuftan

It was recently my birthday. Usually I don't write about it as I don't consider it too big a deal. It's been some time since I've had a cake. In real life, maybe a little pizza with a few friends, either on the day or a weekend near it. Second Life is often where I have my fun on my birthday. Being at a dance party with friends, especially longtime friends and music, it's a happy time that I can look back on with a smile.

But this year, my wife Charlee decided to do a little something special for me. It started off with her updating my mesh bat avatar, which usually gets worn only this time of year and a few Best in Wings events. She would also update hers.

It was Thursday, and she had a set at the Happy Vixen.

It went well with a crowd of "Charlee's Angels" as her fans sometimes call themselves showing up.

We planned on heading to Scorn for the set of our friends DJ Juana and hostess Noc. But the venue was different this time, a "Bat Venue." And getting there, I had a surprise.

Charlee had gotten together with Scorn's owner, Gwen Winchester, and they decided to not just throw a birthday party, but since I loved Halloween and thought bats were a cool critter, they had a bat theme to it.

And the two of us in our "bat-tacular" looks were dancing away.

A closer look of Juana and Noc.

And there were some cool decorations.

People were soon dropping in, and in all kinds of costumes. There were plenty of bats, but also a naga.

DJ Scratch Musikat and his love Muertos, who is his hostess at his Happy Vixen sets on Friday, were there, him in a witch outfit.

We ended up with a couple mice, Zee and Brandi Steussel ... okay, a mouse and a dragonmouse.

Mato, the manager of Club Zero Gravity, showed up.

My friend Foxy came as a dark fennec.

Someone couldn't affoard a costume, so he came in a barrel.

Others showed up as well, including Gwen and her husband Atterius, and others I don't have the space to mention.

It was truly a great combination Halloween and birthday party (Charlee insists it was just a birthday party with a bat theme added). There were plenty of bat and vampire jokes, along with other Halloween ones. After DJ Juana was finished at 10PM, Gwen took over the DJing.

In the back was a "Be My Boo" photo stand that Charlee and I tried out.

from Charlee

Thank you everyone, and thank you my sweet Charlee for a birthday I'll never, never forget.

Various Second Life Happenings In October

By Gemma Cleanslate

I have had several very busy weeks in sl. As a Ranger at the Burn2 event most of my time was spent on the playa helping. There was one final celebration that included anyone connected to the event in any way, Leads, artists, Dj’s, Rangers, Greeters, and visitors. It was great fun!

One more event will take place and that is the Skin Burn. It will take place on October 29 at 12 and 6. “What is Skin Burn? The BURN2 Skin Burn is a decompression event that features an “encore” Man Burn, usually 1-2 weeks after the closing of the annual BURN2 event held in late October. We Burn the Man again, with everyone in their best low-lag form. We are challenged to get wildly creative with it, too!” More information will be sent before the day.

I managed to get away to attend the installation ceremony and ball for the newly appointed Ambassador for the Jeogeot Continent. Everyone in attendance sat on bleachers outside the Embassy to witness Abnor Mole hand over the key to Bel ,,,, Bel addressed the audience saying,

"Almost 3 years ago I found the BBB and with it came Boo, Sun, North, and then me. Boo setting up office in a houseboat.

Then it was Fi’s house and from there to a cabin and then to a stilts home. Then to where it is now. Lots of moving and lots of memories.I am more than a little bit excited at being given the opportunity to be a member of the BBB again...good old memories!I want to thank Everyone for allowing me to return as the Ambassador of Jeogeot. Lots of new faces and identities for me to get to know As Ambassador of Jeogeot I want to integrate the things that Jeogeot has to offer and is known for. And to integrate the things that Bellisseria has to offer to all of Second Life. I shall continually update new adventures and areas of interest, while bringing to Jeogeot the larger-than-life areas of interest of the rest of Second Life"

Everyone offered congratulations to Bel and we then adjourned to the party area that was set up next to the Embassy property and had a wonderful time dancing and chatting. The BBB (Bellisseria Bureau of Bureaucracy) is the sponsor of all the embassies and ambassadors across the continents of SL.

I did get to two pre-Halloween parties in Bellisseria also after the Burn2 closed. DJ Bela hosted one and DJ Far hosted another. My next project is to get to see some of the spooky places set up before Halloween is over.

Our dear Hammies have set up a wonderful Hammieween at the Bellisseria Fairgrounds. Stop over to check it out and see if you can attend a party there too! There are games and a hunt going on.

Some Halloween Parties in Second Life

By Bixyl Shuftan

There isn't another time of year quite like Halloween. In real life, there's all sorts of spooky fun parties, and people wear costumes to look like what they want. In Second Life, people can already look more or less what they want to. But the occasion gives them the opportunity to go wild and take on looks they otherwise wouldn't. And of course there are all sorts of haunts.

Some places, such as the Happy Vixen, had a number of Halloween-themed events across the month such as "Orange and Black." The events had been moved to this year's Halloween area as well, the ghost pirate island

And there were the Halloween pranks, like the one I pulled a couple days before Halloween with an avatar I don't usually wear.

[20:09] Penny Shuftan (DeafLegacy Resident): Bix??
[20:09] Penny Shuftan (DeafLegacy Resident): There you are :)

[20:10] Bixyl Shuftan: I think I found a scary Halloween look

[20:10] Clove (VoxDragon Resident): hi snow
[20:10] Snowy AngelBun Lefavre (Skylark Lefavre): Hii Clove
[20:11] Penny Shuftan (DeafLegacy Resident) yanks a gun out and cocks it before aiming it at Bix
[20:11] Penny Shuftan (DeafLegacy Resident): Please... kindly.. change your avatar, Bix bro...
[20:11] Bixyl Shuftan: okay, changing
[20:11] Muertos Okawa (Muertos Ashbourne): LMAO
[20:11] Scratch Musikatt (ScratchMusikatt Fox): set phasers to furrify!
[20:12] Muertos Okawa (Muertos Ashbourne): LMAO

Here's a better picture of the avatar in question, taken a few years earlier at a Halloween Club Crawl.

On Saturday October 30, Club Cutlass, the main club of the Sunweaver community, had it's Halloween party.

Well, this guy sure used his brain with his costume.

Xanadu would also have a Halloween Party that night.

A number of places would have events on Halloween Day. This included Virtual Ability.

They were doing the monster mash.

Gentle Heron herself was looking a little green.

The National Space Society would have a small Halloween party.

With some Halloweenish science posters.

The Spooky Strides event, raising money for the Relay for Life, had it's last night.

Among the performances on the last day and night was by Drum.

The Bouncing Bunny Beach Club would have a "Monster party." DJ Mattie was playing the music.

Trick or treat.

Only some of those attending went into what could be called a monster look. But it was a monstrous good time.

Also having a Halloween party was the Fallout Shelter in the Deadlands.

Rebel Wolf, aka The Baron, had a good-sized party there.

For a place still recovering from a nuclear war, they were doing pretty good, for one night anyway.

It was quite the Halloween bash.

Among other places having events were the Furry Fashion Lounge, and the Goblin Cave at Caledon Downs.

At 5PM SL time, the main event in the Sunweaver community started, the Happy Vixen's Halloween party.

"Alright all you ghouls and gals. Dj Jazz is kicking it off at The Happy Vixen Haunted Island tonight from 5 to 7. Playing all the Halloween tunes and hits.  Everything from old school horror to current. Oh.. and did I mention there's a Fishbowl event happening?  No? Well here ya go then. Dishing out not one but TWO epic prizes this evening awarded out on the top the hour. 2500L awarded out at the first hour and another 2500L at the close of the event. Want in? Simple, be there and be in theme for a Halloween party."

The "Howloween" event was of course at the ghost pirate island area, and drew quite a crowd.

At one point, there were two dozen present, and probably more than three dozen were there at some time in the four hour party.

From 5 to 7PM, DJ Jazzy played the music. From 7 to 9PM, DJ Squeaks did the tunage.

For the first half of the event, the 2500 Linden prize had been boosted to 3000 L, and the usual prohibition against club staff entering was lifted. The prize was split between Aubrytia Resident (Nikkita Sugar Lefavre), ShinyWhiteDragon, and DeniseUnicorn Toonie. For the second half of the event, the 1000L prize was split between Piper Pekli and Gil Otaared.

Eventually, it would be time for the ghosts and goblin avatars to be put away for another year, or at least until the "Nightmare Before Christmas" event. But it was a fun event for all.
