Gemma Cleanslate was at the 7Seas Fall Fishing Festival last weekend. While there, she took a number of pictures. So here they are, along with a few from Bixyl Shuftan.

 The event was basically lots of fishing, with lots to see.

 And there was quite a bit to see.

 Contests were going on throughout the event, "people hung out in one sim or another most all day"

She wasn't the only one, though.

The fox also took a spin in an airplane there, which could be launched from a small platform there.

There was lots of fishing fun to be had. The event was officially over after Sunday evening, but the builds remained up until Tuesday.

Fall Fishing Festival

 I took a peek at the Fall Fishing Festival area to see how it was coming along. 7Seas Fishing hosts get together for builders and fishers. In case you have not tried fishing in Second Life it is a great sport. There are loads of wonderful fish to catch, and many land owners or renters hold contests daily with even more custom catches to enjoy. 

At the FFF, the creators put up little islands and and fill the waters with delightful customs for catching. Then beginning as soon as people can get into the regions two next to each other, they park themselves in a area where catches come from all around. Some fishers bring boats or flying wearables and hover in the air. Some pick a nice island and sit around and talk while they fish. A few park themselves under water and go out to work or shopping in real life. It is inventory overflow time!!! I still have a few things from the fishing in the spring that I have not looked at yet. It is such fun and the customs are admired by all. 

Even though you may never have fished in Second Life, it is worth a trip out to the sims just to see the cute builds that will be there for the weekend. The festival will be open from Friday November 14 through Sunday the 16th. However if you can’t make it for exploring, the sims usually stay open through at least Monday and perhaps Tuesday in case you can’t make it over the weekend.

I saw a couple of builds that are almost finished and have the photos here for you. I will take pictures of some of the quaint fishers and prizes over the weekend and post them next week. Land on Grey Nacht’s island and take a tour from there.

Fishiversary

Fishiversary took place this weekend in two sims, Iridium and Osmium. This is a yearly “festival” of the fishing world of 7Seas Fishing. 

Many fish custom creators are invited to get a plot in the sims and build a fishing haven where people will fish for 24/7 from Friday to Sunday, perhaps longer if the sims don’t disappear too quickly. It is great fun fishing up the created customs. 

One of my favorite prizes is The Galaxy Certificate that entitles one to live on board the ship for a week . It makes a great gift for weddings and rezz days. 

Some of the customs are clothing , hats or outfits, wearable rods and other fishing accessories.  Others are blueprints to build an item of use. 

There were some fishing contests held. Most of all I enjoy the fascinating builds that people put up all around the sims. Here are some pictures of the amazing builds and and fisher people in the sims.

Editor's Note: Talking to Jen Shikami of the 7Seas team, she was "Very happy with how the event went. I'm just glad to see everyone in the community still having fun and creating such amazing things. It reminds me of why we started this in the first place. I also have high hopes that I can get my RL organized enough to be in SL more, get more projects going for the 7Seas community."

This weekend, Gemma spent some time at the 7Seas' Fall Fishing Festival.  Having earlier sent a story to tell about it just as it was starting, she sent a number of pictures as the weekend went on. 

Much of her time was spent at Party Island in Osimia, There were "contests held at the party island which is built like children's school desks."

 Gemma won at least one contest. Her prize: a rare seahorse.

7Seas Fall Fishing Festival

It is that time of year. Everything happens on the same weekend and you wish you had bilocation. With everything else going on it is also time to sit and fish!

 

7Seas Fishing sponsors a wonderful three sim fishing event twice a year. Fishiversery in the spring and Fall Fishing Festival in November. All the builders of anything related to fishing, or not, created catches that draws fishers who just sit around and catch, filling up their inventories with goodies that may not get sorted by spring. It was great fun.

 

Many builders had little islands or shacks or quaint builds in the three sims and there was constant fishing going on. It was fun to park yourself in the middle of a group of servers and catch from many builders at the same time. There was comfortable lounging areas on their builds, or one could rezz a boat and move around the sims.

There are 24 fishing areas offering customs and things to buy and a party island where some short fishing contests will be held. There will be requests for donations to, and, auctions will be held to benefit  the  “Child's Play“ charity. This charity supplies toys and games to children's hospitals.

 

Seven Shikami and Meissa Thorne, the creators and owners of 7Seas Fishing are to be congratulated for hosting this event. They have the support of all the fishers in SL. Cudos also to the builders on the sims who created wonderful fishing places and really great catches. Harem Antics and More at Req City Fishing

This is a fishing contest??? Yep it is.

One way to wake up in the morning is to visit Req City at Requiem. Each day at 4:30AM SL time, Roxylee Rayna, our sweet vampire demoness, hosts a theme contest. And this is Harem and Sheik day.

Here are all the lovely ladies in silks doing a belly dance. The handsome sheiks of course are watching and we are all fishing! This sim is a dark roleplay sim, but the fishing is open to anyone who loves to fish and frolic.

Monday all are invited to wear pink. Our skeleton, Iamdave Dagger, even has pink ribs. Tuesday we have a beach party. Wednesday is Harem day. And on Thursday you will find bobbysockers bopping all around. On Friday, weird or wonderful avatars or outfits show up on the beach. The fishing DJ for all these affairs is RJ Mesmeriser, who seems to have music for every occasion! Who said fishing in SL was boring!

No one is tossed out for being out of costume, so if you would like to visit call me at 4:30AM and I will send a magic carpet to collect you.
